About the Author
Lt. Col. (Ret) Terry L. Duran retired from the U.S. Army after 34 years of enlisted and commissioned service, including multiple combat tours to Afghanistan and other assignments to Egypt, Germany, Kentucky, Georgia, Texas, Virginia, and Washington, DC. His service included 10 years of joint (multi-service) assignments and nine years as an instructor for five different military courses, including Officer Candidate School and MOS 19D Cavalry Scout Qualification. He taught Army JROTC for four years, where his school's cadet unit earned the Honor Unit with Distinction Award. He the author of two Barron's ASVAB test preparation books, Barron's ASVAB Flash Cards (the first of their kind), and Barron's Military Flight Aptitude Tests, as well as hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles. He and his lovely bride June are blessed with three children and eight grandchildren.

In the 1930s, Manuel H. Barron opened a bookstore in Brooklyn, New York.
People from the community asked Mr. Barron about books that might be available to help their children study for the New York State Regents exams. After realizing there wasn't anything available, Mr. Barron created his own study guides.
