Special processing has preserved the natural shading of the lunar surface while allowing the labels to stand out clearly.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e The names of more than 190 craters, \u003ci\u003emaria\u003c\/i\u003e (lava plains), mountain ranges, and other features are shown, as are the landing sites for Apollo and Luna spacecraft.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e The globe comes with a freestanding, clear plastic base and an information card describing key Moon facts and how the globe was made.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Object in the nighttime sky captivates us more than the Moon does. Every month we watch it evolve in its phase from new to full and back again, and through a telescope its surface features look very different depending on where the Sun is in the lunar sky. Yet the Moon's spin and its orbit are locked together in a way that never lets us see more than about half of the Moon's surface.
