Patrick Foye, M.D., is an international expert and pioneer in treating tailbone pain (coccyx pain). He is Founder and Medical Director of the Tailbone Pain Center at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Foye is a renowned physician, a Professor, a clinical researcher, and an award-winning medical educator. Patients with tailbone pain visit him from around the world. MORE DETAILS: Dr. Patrick Foye earned a bachelor's degree in biology and chemistry from Drew University. He then earned his M.D. from New Jersey Medical School in 1992. Dr. Foye did his internship in internal medicine at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, N.J., where he was named "Intern of the Year" and "Most Compassionate Resident." He did his residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at Northwestern University's prestigious Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, where he was Chief Resident. Dr. Foye became a faculty member at New Jersey Medical School in 1996, where he founded the Tailbone Pain Center. He has multiple board certifications, including in PM&R and pain management. As a medical school professor, Dr. Foye has written extensively on topics of pain, musculoskeletal medicine, and tailbone injuries. He has published more than 200 medical research articles, book chapters, review articles, conference abstracts, and other medical publications. At Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, Dr. Foye has been inducted into the Masters Educators Guild, and has received the university's Excellence in Teaching Award. He has taught over 800 lectures and workshops for medical students, resident physicians, medical doctors, physical therapists, and other healthcare providers. The American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation has honored him with the national Distinguished Clinician Award. Dr. Foye has also been named as one of "America's Top Physicians." Dr. Foye and his research have been has been covered extensively in the media, including: Time magazine, National Public Radio (NPR), Fox News, the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Regis and Kathy Lee, and many others.
