It's told through many different perspectives. Part of the book is in first-person account but then switches throughout to third-person perspective and from many different characters' viewpoints when in the third person. The different perspectives do allow you to get into the heads of the other characters more but does require a bit more concentration to know who's speaking when. This book deals with themes of love, friendship, forgiveness, and is jammed-packed with all things supernatural from archangels, to portals into other worlds/dimensions, and spirit guides. The story is more character and action-driven than world-building; for me, this is a good thing as I love character-driven stories. While I had many theories about how the ending would be, the ending was perfect.
