In a handwritten notation in his Bible, dated March 10, 1955, at 3:40 a.m., Dr. T.V. "Corky" Farris wrote: "Over this Bible I surrender my all and claim the anointing of God's Spirit." With these words written as a seminary student, Dr. Farris embarked on a life of service and ministry that had actually begun as a college student at Baylor University. Over the next 38 years, his ministry included pastorates in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas; the mission field of Japan; serving with the Evangelism Division of the Baptist General Convention of Texas; and finally Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, where he served as Chairman of the Department of Hebrew and Old Testament. The sermons in this volume, compiled and edited by his son, are but a select few of the hundreds he preached over the years.
