Pierre Ferrari was a leading figure in international development and a transformative chief executive of Heifer International. After graduating from Harvard Business School, he joined the Coca-Cola Company, becoming vice president of marketing in his early forties. Responding to a long-standing concern for social justice, he left Coca-Cola to work with the international aid organization CARE. He went on to work with a variety of social and environmental enterprises before becoming CEO of Heifer International. Pierre led Heifer through a dramatic reimagining of its strategy, changing the scale and focus of its projects and innovating a new model for international development. A devoted father of four, he lived near Atlanta, Georgia, with his wife, Kim, and beloved mutt, Baloney. He spent the last years of his life writing this book, which he completed just weeks before his death.
