Geoffrey Ashe was born in London. A graduate of the universities of British Columbia and Cambridge, he has a varied background in literary and journalistic work, lecturing, and industrial administration.

His first investigations of British legend produced King Arthur’s Avalon (1957) and From Caesar to Arthur (1960). These led him to wider forays into collective mystiques and hero cults. He has written The Land and the Book (1965) on Zionism and Gandhi: A Study in Revolution (1968). As editor of The Quest for Arthur’s Britain (1968), he assembled the researches of several eminent scholars, presenting the entire theme in a new light. Camelot and the Vision of Albion sums up his previous work and goes beyond it.

A thorough exploration of the myth of King Arthur, its psychology, enduring fascination  and the impact of the dream that he might return.
