The town had a Jewish library\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ewhere people could meet to read books, attend dances, hear lectures, and\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003esee theatrical performances.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eNazis occupied the town in October 1939. Changing the town's name to\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eMoosburg, they burned the Synagogue and began the persecution and\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ekilling of Jews. Nearly half were sent to forced\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003elabor camps, where most of them died of hunger\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eand disease. In Przedecz, Jews were forced\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eto live in a ghetto under horrific conditions.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIn early 1942, they were packed into the local\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003echurch and left for three days without food or\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ewater.
