He is a five time People's Choice Award winner, five time ECMA winner, a Genie Award winner and a past JUNO and CCMA nominee, with six solo albums and numerous collaborative recordings to his credit. Ron Hynes holds an Honorary Doctorate from Memorial University for his songwriting and contribution to the cultural life of Newfoundland and was recipient of the prestigious Arts Achievement Award from the Newfoundland Arts Council in 2004. Ron Hynes' latest cd release, Get Back Change, won the 2004 East Coast Music Award for Country Recording Of The Year and Album Of The Year.
