He served in the Navy during the \"Korean War\" from 1950-1952, as a radio technician and went to Korea three times. He was with Air Group #2 and Air Group #19 aboard several different aircraft carriers, such as the \u003cem\u003eBoxer, Valley Forge, Philippine Sea, \u003c\/em\u003e and \u003cem\u003ePrinceton\u003c\/em\u003e. He earned the \"GI Bill\" and went to college at SUNY Oswego, in New York State. During his time there, he earned a BS degree in industrial arts. He then went on to be an industrial arts teacher in Tupper Lake, NY.
