Omar Abdulle Alasow holds a M.I.L from the University of Lund, Faculty of Law (Sweden), a LL.M from the University of Helsinki, Faculty of Law (Finland) and a Ph.D from the University of Essex, School of Law (UK). He is an expert on Somalia and international humanitarian law based in the UK. He served as an independent legal advisor to former Somali Prime Ministers (July 2005-October 2007 and December 2007-February 2009). His current research interest includes international humanitarian law, human rights and constitutional law, international criminal law and transitional justice.
