Manfred J. von Vulte was born in Pointe Claire, Quebec, but grew up in Winnipeg and Toronto. He is a graduate of Francis Libermann Catholic High School and York University where he completed both his Honours B.A. and M.A. in History. Currently, he is the Department Head of Computer Science at Northmount School where he also teaches history and other subjects to Grades Five and Six. This is the first scholarly work to be published by this promising, young historian. His second book, a children's book, Tale of the Giant Pigeon, was published by Borealis Press in 2006.
