Melanie Gillman (they/them) is a graphic novelist and colored pencil artist who specializes in queer and trans comics for middle grade and YA readers. They are the creator of several graphic novels, including As the Crow Flies, Stage Dreams, and Other Ever Afters. Their work has won numerous awards, including a Society of Illustrators Gold Medal, an Excellence in Graphic Literature Award, and a Stonewall Honor Award. In addition to their comics work, they also are a professor at California College of the Arts, where they teach classes in the comics MFA program.

Rebecca Mock (they/them) is a New York Times bestselling and Eisner Award–winning comic book artist and illustrator, known for illustrating adventure and fantasy comics such as Salt Magic and Compass South as well as contemporary comics such as Dare You to Dance. They also work as a background artist for animation and as an adjunct professor at FIT's illustration MFA program. In addition to reading comics and historical nonfiction, they love opera and ballet.
