Product

The cradle has mesh panels on both sides, telescoping feet with wheel locks, and a height adjustment feature of seven levels.

Issue

Health Canada’s sampling and evaluation program has determined that these cradles do not meet the Cribs, Cradles and Bassinets Regulations in Canada. Specifically, the cradles’ sleep surface provides an incline angle greater than 7 degrees, posing a risk of entrapment and suffocation to the child.

Health Canada reminds parents and caregivers that the safest place for a baby to sleep is on their back on a firm, flat surface intended for sleep. As of April 8, 2024, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Affected products

This recall involves the Yoto Mini, a portable connected screen-free speaker intended for children ages three to twelve. The Yoto Mini speaker is operated by use of Yoto cards and is designed to play audiobooks, music, radio and podcasts. The speakers are pale gray with orange tactile controls and a pixel display. The model name Yoto Mini, SKU PRPLXX00860, and serial number are located on the base of the product. The recalled Yoto Mini was sold with a charging cable included but no adaptor or charger.

Issue

The speaker’s lithium-ion battery can overheat and catch fire, posing a fire hazard to consumers. As of April 1, 2024, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Remedy

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and contact the company to receive a free replacement smart charging cable.

In partnership with Health Canada, Abond issued a voluntary recall of the Piccolo Bambino white contour baby changing pad due to choking hazard.

This recall involves the product Piccolo Bambino white contour baby changing pad. The pad features a PEVA cover with a diamond pin sonic embossed pattern and can be identified by model number PB2008 and UPC 773299500086. Issue

The zipper pull can be twisted off and may pose a choking hazard.

Remedy

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and remove the zipper pull. This can be done by twisting the zipper pull with your fingers. Lamaze Chill Teether recalled due to microbial contamination

December 15, 2022 – Lamaze is conducting a recall of its “Chill Teether,” due to contamination concerns related to the liquid inside the teether.

Affected Products:

This recall involves Lamaze’s “Chill Teether,” available in clear semi-transparent colour. The recalled teethers can be identified by item number Y5288L, UPC 071463052882 and production codes K1920ALP01 & E1920ALP01. Both item number and production code can be found directly on the back of the product and packaging. Only those teethers with production code K1920ALP01 or E1920ALP01, as indicated above, are included in this recall.

Testing by Health Canada and TOMY International, Inc., has determined that the products contain a liquid filling contaminated with either the bacteria Sphingomonas sp and Staphylococcus epidermidis, which may cause an infection in children with weakened immune systems if the product is punctured and the liquid is ingested.

June 4, 2021– Fisher-Price is conducting a recall of the 4-in-1 Rock ‘n Glide Soothers and 2-in-1 Soothe ‘n Play Gliders. In the United States, Fisher-Price has received 4 reports of infant fatalities in the 4-in-1 Rock 'n Glide Soothers. The infants were reportedly placed on their backs unrestrained in the product and later found on their stomachs. No reports of suffocation incidents have been reported for the 2-in-1 Soothe 'n Play Glider. Fisher-Price has received no reports of suffocation incidents for either product in Canada. While there have been no fatalities in the 2-in-1 Soothe ‘n Play Gliders, Fisher-Price proactively included this product in the recall as the products are very similar.
