"Another great book from the TOG series. This one felt less action paced than TOG but it was a page turner. It definitely had a mystery aspect to it and was a great development in the story."

Unpredictable and exhilarating

"This story had alot of unexpected turns and mystery. We don’t know where everyone’s alliances lie and don’t know who to trust. We are finding out there is a lot more going on in the castle than anyone could’ve guessed and celeana needs to decide what she is going to do. She is walking a tight rope and it’s indcredibly dangerous. One wrong move and everything could go down. This story begs the questions of who and what does celeana want to be, any can she trust the people around her? Who else is harbouring secrets? Who is really trying to help her and who is really working for them selves…Loved the plot and constant suspense of this book. It really had me trying to guess who is good and who is bad. Dynamics change between people drastically and at times it is heart wrenching and at other moments it feels very uplifting. This was an absolute page turner, I couldn’t put it down."

"SO MUCH HAPPENED! I could not put it down. This book officially has me hooked on the TOG series. I read TOG first and it was good, read COM second, and now already halfway into AB to see how Celaena’s story started. Happy with my decision to read it out of order - sorry SJM. I was silent screaming at so many parts of this whether it was excitement, anger or shock. Celaena is the FMC I have been looking for — what an absolute badass! I was so hesitant to start another high commitment series but I could not be happier that I did and now I’m dreading the day I finish the series. This one has got me out of my reading block - we’re back and ready to finish the year of strong."
