Set during the time of Fearless, a mysterious figure arrives in the kingdom of Ilya to witness the fight for the throne and the price it costs those sworn to defend the land in this beautiful and heart-wrenching story in the #1 New York Times bestselling Powerless trilogy.
Love too grand, it kills.
Mara never intended to set foot in Ilya again. But when the king makes a life-altering decision, her interest is piqued, and Death is determined to understand Kitt Azer’s mind if he is destined to join her in the Mors.
Spending time with the king while observing the castle’s inhabitants reminds Mara that there is more to life than just death. There is love. But even the purest of intentions spur revenge and the pursuit of power. And fate will have its way with all of them—to live, to rule, to love, and most certainly, to die…

"This book was not like the others in the series. Not as in it was better, much the contrary. This book had no hook whatsoever. i might be REALLY picky and want a plot twist every chapter like powerless but fearful just wasnt it."

That feeling we chase as readers? This book gave it to me.
"I didn’t realize how much I missed the feeling of being fully consumed by a story until I read Fearful. The world-building is breathtaking in a way that feels both brutal and magical. The character arcs are layered so beautifully — it’s like watching someone break and become stronger in the same breath. Lauren Roberts just gets how to write longing, loyalty, and power. I’m still thinking about certain scenes days later."

Loved it
"I bought this book 3 months ago and I just finished it. It’s not that it’s a hard book to read it’s that I hated Kitt so much and it just got so annoying to read. It brings in a random new character and focuses more on her than Kitt. This series overall was one of my favourites but I just can’t with this book. It’s confusing and hard to wrap your head around. Also if you liked Lenny and hated Blair. Don’t read this. You will hate Lenny by the end. I might be really picky but this book just wasn’t for me. To be fair I do strongly dislike Kitt as of the last book. But Powerless and Reckless were PERFECTION. Powerful was also really good. The first 3/4 of Fearless was really good I just don’t like the last part."

A dissapointment
"Listen, I AM A KITT LOVER and this book felt like the author knew this, teased me into thinking it would be a redemption arc and yanked that away and curb stomped my hopes and dreams for an ending that would never happen. The side characters in this novella were lovely, but felt rushed. The human embodiment of death was interesting until the last 50 pages of the book, and the Kitt narrative was hopeful until it was not. Also the ending of this book feels as if the author is about to lead up to another cash grab series, which felt disappointing. If you already couldn't tell, I was disappointed with this novella and left feeling like I wasted my time."

Kitt <3
"This was a great Novella to end the Trilogy. If you are debating if you should include this novella, it’s a must read to get dear Kitt’s point of view"
