Easy read, but nothing earth-shattering

"This was an easy book to read through but I didn't find the content particularly engaging. There is good stuff in there, particularly on using Sabbath rests for those in leadership but I have found much of the content expressed elsewhere in a better and more thorough way. It feels like the goal was readability and some of the depth of communication was sacrificed as a result."

Amazing book

"Loved this book. Filled with helpful, scripture-tied advice / knowledge about how God intended life to be lived. Loved the authors quitting style as well, very easy to read."

We need this perspective!

"This book looks at work and rest and it does a magnificent job. It helps the reader to see how just about any kind of work is God's work, not just preaching or church planting. It also makes a solid case for the importance of rest as a way of trusting God's sovereignty. Highly recommend this book, especially for young adults trying to get started in a career."

John Mark Comer is the founding pastor at Bridgetown Church, director and teacher of Practicing the Way, and the New York Times bestselling author of Live No Lies and other books. His passion is the intersection of spiritual formation and post-Christian culture, and to that end, he is regularly found reading the desert fathers and mothers, ancient saints and obscure contemplatives, modern psychologists and social scientists, and op-eds from the New York Times. Most importantly, he is husband to T and father to Jude, Moses, and Sunday.
