Big and Small Feelings

"In My Heart is a vibrant, heartfelt celebration of emotions—big ones, small ones, messy ones, and joyful ones. Jo Witek invites children to explore their feelings through poetic language and bold, colourful illustrations that visually come alive with each page. What makes this book so special is its honesty. It doesn’t try to flatten emotions or simplify them. Instead, it shows that feelings can be loud or quiet, heavy or light, and that every one of them matters. The cut-out heart growing smaller and smaller as you turn each page is both visually stunning and symbolically comforting. As a read-aloud, it opens up beautiful conversations about emotional awareness. As a keepsake, it becomes a tool for helping children understand themselves. It’s warm, nurturing, and wonderfully validating—a book every child should grow up with. As a teacher I love this book to discuss those BIG feelings !"

In my heart: a book of feelings""

"I purchased 2 copies of ""In my heart: a book of feelings"" by Jo Witek for my 2 teenage granddaughters. I gave the books to them for Valentine's Day so the cut out hearts were very appropriate. I love this book & although it says it is meant for younger children I enjoyed it & think others would too. The thoughts conveyed on each page are quite deep & refreshing. The art work by Christine Roussey is charming & whimsical. A wonderful combination! I also purchased, ""My little gifts: a book of sharing"" by the same author & illustrator. It too is a delightful book filled with charm. These 2 books are beautiful & I see there are other titles in this series."
