Supporting Indigenous Communities
Since 2017 the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation has contributed over $1m to promote literacy within Indigenous communities. Most recently, over $340 thousand from our $1 Million Community Response Fund went to support First Nations, Metis, and Inuit families to promote literacy while at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. “Our students absolutely require reading materials around them. This is so important at this time of much home learning.” - Grade 8/9 Teacher, White Bear Education Complex via Treaty Alliance partnership via Treaty Education Alliance partnership.
Children's Literacy
“This grant has been a game changer for our school. Students are now engaged in reading, talking about reading, looking for books that interest them, and excited about books that inform us of our world. Representation Matters
