Good jumping off point into to world of learning about ocd

"A good jumping off point to learn about ocd. But it’s definitely a take what applies and leave the rest type of book. As with many health related books there were a few things I HEAVILY disagreed with but over all it was helpful. I would say it is especially good a breaking down all the different types of ocd so that whom ever is reading it is able to help pin point what they struggle with."

"Exceedingly helpful when trying to get a hold of OCD. Would be an amazing resource for parents who are attempting to guide their kids and teens. Lots of insight into the brain and what's happening in one with OCD. Step by step advice and a system to follow."

Readable....encouraging....Worksheets, graphs, and quotes are scattered throughout; an appendix covers how to find a therapist, and additional resources are listed. There are other books on OCD for parents...but this is the only title aimed at both the sufferer and the parents; its emphasis on OCD as an illness motivates the child and parents to isolate OCD from the individual. Highly recommended. (starred review)-- "Library Journal" (12/30/2006 12:00:00 AM)
