Inspired by Beauty and the Beast and the myth of Hades and Persephone, this lush and enchanting enemies-to-lovers fantasy romance is perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas, Jennifer L. Armentrout, and Scarlett St. Clair.
Wren of Edgewood is no stranger to suffering. With her parents gone, it’s Wren’s responsibility to ensure she and her sister survive the harsh and endless winter, but if the legends are to be believed, their home may not be safe for much longer.
For three hundred years, the land surrounding Edgewood has been encased in ice as the Shade, a magical barrier that protects the townsfolk from the Deadlands beyond, weakens. Only one thing can stop the Shade’s fall: the blood of a mortal woman bound in wedlock to the North Wind, a dangerous immortal whose heart is said to be as frigid as the land he rules. And the time has come to choose his bride.
When the North Wind sets his eyes on Wren’s sister, Wren will do anything to save her—even if it means sacrificing herself in the process. But mortal or not, Wren won’t go down without a fight…
The North Wind is a stand-alone, enemies-to-lovers slow-burn fantasy romance, the first in a series sprinkled with Greek mythology.

Enchanting to meet you
"J’ai été emportée par l’écriture de ce livre me rappelant mes moments préférés de la Belle et la bête. Le livre était très emprunt dans les contes fantastiques. La relation entre les personnages a évoluée de belle façon et organiquement. J’ai été enchantée."

Beauty and the Beast with teeth
"Book review: 3. 5/5 ⭐️ Genre: romantasy Themes: gods and mortals, power vs. love, hope in the darkness 📖 Read if you like: The Hurricane Wars, Powerless, After the Forest Imagine Beauty and the Beast with teeth. Belle takes on the form of an orphaned twin who has been burdened with the responsibility of caregiving for her sister no matter the cost to herself. Wren is full of sharp edges and a lacks the ability to truly recognize what it is she wants, for she has never allowed herself to hope for it. The Beast takes the form of a Greek god in the North Wind with very loose roots in mythology. Boreas is cold and unfeeling, or so it would seem. I mean kidnapping a wife from the local village every couple of decades and imprisoning a wife for misbehaving are certainly horrible tendencies, but all monsters have an origin story and a path to healing. As a fairytale, it was cute. An opposites attract enemies to lovers situation with two morally grey characters riddled with trauma and loss. It was given an update with a feisty heroine who fights her own battles and dares to speak against those in power. The cold edifice that is Boreas was also rather enjoyable, especially when poking the bear with laughter. I started off really enjoying this book. It was immersive and dark with an interesting storyline - my favourite kinds of romantasy. Sadly, the dialogue and self sabotaging began to be a bit repetitive and some decisions near the end of the book didn’t really track with the character arcs. The integration of Greek mythology was also a bit confusing because several characters were given the persona of Greek gods, but they had slightly different roles and powers. For example, Boreas has the responsibility of Hades passing judgment on the dead and deciding what their afterlife should be. If you’re big into mythology like I am, these discrepancies may be distracting or irksome at times. That being said, I believe writers can take creative license in their own stories. So back to the story. It started off strong with several interesting ideas overlapping and a sassy lead. The cast of supporting characters also proved to be rather endearing, as did the complicated situation in the northern kingdom, and the relationship between sisters. It had a lot going for it. I think the pace really lagged in the middle of the book and it was hard to stay engaged (though that could also be attributed to other stuff going on in the world right now). It took a long time for events to unfold and by the time they did I was less invested as some of the larger things at play felt ignored and I realized I am not always a fan of the self denial in budding relationships, especially with a strong FMC. The ending was sweet with a happily ever after, but it didn’t really make sense to me in terms of no repercussions on Boreas’ responsibilities and those souls in the Deadlands. So there were things I definitely liked and will continue the series, but I also wished it was a bit shorter and there were fewer inconsistencies. If you like fairy tales, you’ll enjoy this one."

Starts Off Strong
"The North Wind was a quick read to breeze through. It is jam packed with tropes (forced proximity, enemies to lovers, arranged marriage, emotional trauma etc) and has some deliciously spicy moments, but despite interesting characters and concepts a lot of questions are left unanswered and the book sizzles out with a unsatisfactory puff. The bonus chapter in particular ruined my overall enjoyment of the book."
