Sadly disappointed.

"I was mostly disappointed by Singles Tax by Renée Sylvestre-Williams. I went into it with high expectations, especially because it is a Canadian book. I assumed it would focus primarily on Canada’s financial systems and challenges for single people. Instead, it split its attention between Canada and the United States, which left me feeling like it did not go deep enough into either. In trying to be broadly accessible, the book felt somewhat surface level. There is already a significant amount of financial literature geared toward Americans, but far less tailored specifically to Canadians. I had hoped this book would fill that gap in a meaningful way. Unfortunately, it did not provide the depth or Canada-specific insight I was looking for. One section I did appreciate was the discussion on housing co-ops. That portion offered practical and interesting information that felt useful and concrete. However, beyond that, I found myself finishing the book more out of principle, having spent my hard-earned money on it, than genuine engagement. Overall, while the premise is compelling, the execution did not fully meet my expectations. Readers looking for in-depth, Canada-focused financial guidance for single people may find it lighter than anticipated."
