Reviews

Epic, Ambitious, and Unforgettable—Though Not Perfect

"The Stand is an incredibly ambitious novel that delivers some of Stephen King’s most memorable characters and world-building. The post-apocalyptic setting feels vast and immersive, and the early sections of the book are especially gripping. While the story occasionally drags due to its length and detailed detours, the emotional investment in the characters makes it worthwhile. It’s not a flawless read, but it’s a powerful, thought-provoking epic that stays with you long after the final page."

Ugly cover, timeless story

"The CBS show cover is ugly but it makes for easier transport b/c I don't care to bend it."

GOAT

"Easily Stephen King’s greatest work. It’s no debate"

Rafael (5/5)

Amazing suspense and fantastic and wide range of characters

"I read the book in a month, which is very fast considering its size. It's a much longer book and can feel a little slower at times for that reason, but that's the trade-off for how many different characters there are and how many details there are. You get to know the characters very well when they're on their own before Stephen King introduces them to each other. Something to note, this is an apocalypse book based on Christianity, Mother Abagail represents God and Randall Flagg evil and Satan in the book. You can still appreciate the book even if you aren't Christian, but it is something to be aware of."
