Exactly the book we all should be reading now.

"This is exactly the book I needed to read right now. Gill Deacon has taken her own journey with uncertainty and generously given us her well researched wisdom. A Love Affair with the Unknown is written with humour, clarity, insight and warmth. My outlook, as I look at a terrifyingly uncertain world, has shifted. I will keep this book at hand to dip into again and again."

A lovely read - hopeful and helpful

"Loved sending time with this book. It felt like I finally found someone to talk with about what sometimes feels too much, too bad, to face. Someone who offered many thoughtful suggestions and researched examples of how to consider a new or helpful change of perspective. Thank you Gillian Deacon for opening up your experience for a very enjoyable and useful read."

Literally changed my mind

"Perfect for anyone spending too much time feeling sorry for themselves! Gill Deacon hasn't just learned how to make lemonade when life serves you lemons, she knows how to plant and care for the lemon trees (in any climate!). This book is extremely thoughtful, inspiring and beautifully written. Part memoir, part intellectual/philosophical exploration, it changed my perspective on my own thinking and behaviour for the better."

ToughCustomer (5/5)

Great read

"Loved this book! I don't normally enjoy non-fiction, but the creative way in which Gill structured this book made it so engaging. She combines her personal story and research and creates connections that make it a compelling read. Her voice, warmth and humour come through in her writing just as they did on radio and on her podcast."

LTMC (5/5)

Beautifully written

"A thoughtful, smart, immensely readable book with many sidebar references you will WANT to explore. An honest and glorious rumination about hope and a way forward when life throws discomfort or an avalanche your way."

Reassuring advice in times of uncertainty

"I learned so much from this book. Life is full of uncertainty and sometimes it can overwhelm us. Gill's book is the comfort we need to carry on."

Love Affair with the Unknown is a compelling account of managing ambiguity in a period of pervasive disruption. This is a must read for all of us searching for a positive perspective in these challenging times."
