A great cozy mystery read

"I loved this book. The characters are amazing and the plot is so good. I love the intertwining plots between the different locations. So cool. I’d recommend this series to so many people."

Alo J. (5/5)

Dual meaning in the title

"Iona Whishaw takes us to the wide open spaces of America while also keeping us in British Columbia With Ames investigating a case."

MJoB (5/5)

Outstanding Canadian mystery series

"The best Canadian mystery series ever. Great characters amongst wonderful post WWII scenery. Love the Arizona twist in this book but the small town BC is truly special."

Joanna F. (5/5)

Canadian content

"Love this series. Interesting characters. A bit like Louise Penny’s books."

Lee D. (5/5)

Good series

"This is one of 8 in a series of quaint murder mysteries. Quite enjoyed this series"

Calgarian (5/5)

A very good addition to a very good series

"Set in 1947, this latest book in Iona Whishaw’s series featuring Lane Winslow and Police Inspector Frederick Darling deals with crimes in two different locations. Lane and Police Inspector Darling of Nelson, BC are in Arizona for their honeymoon when they become involved in a murder at their hotel. Their interest in this murder leads them into a criminal conspiracy with life threatening consequences. Meanwhile in Nelson, Sargent Ames and Constable Terrell are investigating the murder of a resident with a questionable reputation. Compelling from beginning to end, ""A Match Made for Murder"" is a great read."

Praise for A Match Made for Murder (#7)

"Very charming and delightful. If you like Louise Penny's novels, this is right up your street. But also Iona Whishaw tackles big issues in this book: she writes about domestic violence and women's freedom, and so the book has real relevance but also kind of an edge." —CBC Ontario Morning

"Women sleuths rule in Iona’s books, and whenever I read them it reminds me why I should devote more time to historical fiction, including mysteries. Just lovely!" —Hannah Mary McKinnon, author of Sister Dear and Never Coming Home

"With solid characters and nice puzzle plots. It’s perfect for a mental getaway." —Globe and Mail

“An intriguing mix of character, plot, time, and place. Highly recommended.” —Ian Hamilton, author of the bestselling Ava Lee novels

"One of Canada’s leading mystery story-tellers . . . From plot to dialogue and setting, the story weaves a thoroughly complex yet elegantly portrayed mystery from post WWII." —Bay Observer

"Excellent pacing, good use of local color, nice repartee between the protagonists, and plenty of high-stakes action make this a winner." —Publishers Weekly

"Think a young Katharine Hepburn — beautiful, smart and beyond capable. Winslow is an example of the kind of woman who emerged after the war, a confident female who had worked in factories building tanks and guns, a woman who hadn’t yet been suffocated by the 1950s’-perfect housewife ideal." —Vancouver Sun

"Whishaw has a knack for creating wonderful characters and tying seemingly unrelated threads together at the end of each book. That’s certainly the case here." —Historical Novel Society

“Whether Whishaw takes us abroad, stays at home or—like here—gives us both, this series just keeps getting better!” —Catriona McPherson, award-winning author of the Dandy Gilver series

"Iona Whishaw’s Lane Winslow series is a real treat. With a quaint cast of characters and the feel of Louise Penny’s Three Pines, the independence and quick wit of Kerry Greenwood’s Phryne Fisher and the intelligence of Jacqueline Winspear’s Maisie Dobbs, this mystery series has it all!" —Murder by the Book, Texas

"Highly entertaining . . . fans and newcomers alike will find lots to love." —Publishers Weekly, STARRED review
