A collection of three of Richard Rohmer's bestselling speculative novels, offering a chilling vision of resource-rich Canada under threat of invasion.
In Ultimatum(originally published in 1973), an energy crisis which the United States has been unable to prevent has left that country desperate for power from the Arctic. Frustrated by the lack of Canadian responsiveness to U.S. overtures regarding a continental energy policy, the President delivers an ultimatum — oil or war.
We open the sequel, Exxoneration, with the U.S. taking steps toward its intention to annex Canada.
And in techno-thriller Periscope Red, the heating of tensions between Soviet and United States leads to Soviet submarines attacking the world's oil tankers.
Richard Rohmer writes fast-paced, incisive novels with chilling visions of a world of military conflict, legal and political entanglements, and Canada’s role in domestic and international spheres. The issues inside are just as important to Canada today as they were when the books were written. In all of these works, Rohmer demonstrates his insider’s knowledge of the energy industry and the military, and his master storyteller’s ability to bring it alive.

"These books first came out 40 - 50 years ago. They hold up well and are still relevant today - and have surprise endings. . Ultimatum and Exxoneration are again timely given the current Trump administration in the US. The ultimatum is from the US asserting their right to our (Canadian) resources. When that is refused they move to annex us. They fail and in Exxoneration we retaliate by moving to take over Exxon. The third book is set in the Middle East. I read the first two books 50 odd years ago - and still enjoyed the read."

I read these stories when I was a kid. Always wanted my own copy and now I do.
"I've been looking for this for years and the girls in the Guelph chapter were so helpful. I had it within a week."
