An American Library Association Notable Children's Book
Follow perfect pet Barnaby on his perilous journey home through bustling streets, mysterious alleyways, and the untamed wilds of city parks in this gorgeously illustrated tale of friendship, unconditional love and belonging.
A stunning, standalone picture book set in the world of The Barnabus Project from New York Times bestselling creators The Fan Brothers, joined by their brother Devin Fan.
Meet Barnaby: he's half mouse and half elephant, with just a dash of flamingo . . . and fully trained!
When he's brought home to be pampered and cared for by his very own little girl, life is perfect . . . until a new, even more perfect pet comes on the scene. Suddenly Barnaby is no longer the most perfect pet around, and his little girl doesn't seem interested in him anymore. Feeling unappreciated, Barnaby runs away and finds himself swept up on a wild journey through the city and an emotional search for home in a tale of love found, lost and found again.
In a poignant follow-up to their award-winning, internationally bestselling picture book The Barnabus Project, The Fan Brothers and their brother Devin Fan have once again crafted a heartfelt and sweetly sensitive story full of adventure, friendship and family that will enchant readers of all ages.

The Fan Brothers Have Done It Again!
"Barnaby Unboxed' is the fantastic follow-up book to 'The Barnabus Project'. Don't let the fact that it's a children's book fool you -- the story is full of allegory and inferencing, positive messages of loving and accepting yourself as you are, friendship, helping others, striving for what you believe in, and the illustrations are just beautiful and capture the imagination. My Kindergarten students absolutely love these two books and we hope a third one is on the way!"

Great book, not as great as original
"Got this for my son who absolutely loves Barnabus. We were excited for the sequel and although this book was good it was not as good as Barnabus. I was a bit disappointed but still worth a read."
— M. L. (4/5)
Great story
"My daughter and myself were lucky enough to receive this book and the first one from Tundra Boos and Tandem Collective Global to do a readalong for. I had seen Barnaby around on Instagram and he was so cute. I was really excited to be chosen for this opportunity. These books are so well made they are actually really heavy and have the most beautiful illustrations. Every amount of page is taken up by art. And the amount of creativity it took to actually conceptualize this story is amazing. My daughter really enjoyed this book and her favourite part was when Barnaby was reunited with the little girl. I enjoyed that there were lots of themes in this story, found family, nobody is perfect, you are special the way you are, everyone deserves love. It’s an all around great read. I did find it a smidge long so my daughter wasn’t paying too close of attention by the end as she had been in the beginning but that could just be her. We would recommend this read to all little kids and adults alike."

Beautiful and fun to read
"Beautiful book that’s fun to read for both child and parent. Highly recommend for a young child and we enjoyed Barnabus from the series too. Really nice illustrations."
