"The book is a dive into the minds of the top players and what has made them and the Indian team tick. I am sure it will make for a fascinating read." —V.V.S. Laxman
Coaching Beyond primarily reflects on R.Sridhar’s seven-year tenure as fielding coach of the Indian cricket team. Rather than being overly technical, the book is anecdotal, offering insights into the personalities and journeys of some of India’s top players. It highlights, for example, how Virat Kohli bounced back from a dismal Test series in England in 2014 to score four centuries in as many matches on his next overseas tour in Australia.
The book also traces Rishabh Pant’s evolution into a fearless batsman and exceptional wicketkeeper, while exploring the minds of players and support staff to examine India’s journey to the number one Test ranking. Behind-the-scenes interactions, combined with then-head coach Ravi Shastri’s motivational approach, create a riveting insider account of the rise and continued success of Indian cricket.
