Galeborn is for everyone!

"Galeborn has made me fall in love with the world of OZ. I like many have only previously seen the movie, and was worried that I wouldn’t understand the story without having read the books. I was pleasantly surprised that you don’t need to know anything about Oz to enjoy the book. I hope that everyone can learn to love Galeborn and the land of Oz as I have."

Amazing book!!

"Reading GALEBORN for me was like taking a stroll with an old friend, familiar but you got to meet so many new and exciting characters! Being a lover of Oz from L Frank Baums books made the way Dan combined his own unique characters and scenes with the original very special, he did it in such a masterful way that you have to stop while reading and ask yourself which is which 💚 Having our main character be Dorothy’s granddaughter was brilliant. Eliza is such a l complex and understandable character you can really relate to. One of my many favorite sections of the book is when Eliza sets out on a journey and she begins on the Yellow brick road thinking of her grandmothers journey but very quickly veers off it. Apart from physically leaving the road her grandmother had taken everywhere, this is a huge symbol of her having to find her own way through Oz which I loved. I have to say I LOVED this book so much and I can’t wait to see where Dan takes The Gale Legacy next💚"

A Heartfelt Return to Oz: Why GaleBorn Feels Like Coming Home 💚🍄

"As someone who discovered Oz later in life, GaleBorn felt incredibly special to me. From the very first pages, I could feel the same sense of wonder that made me fall in love with Oz. Every land, every character, and every magical detail felt alive. Dan Filion writes with such warmth and care that I often forgot I was reading a book and felt as though I was walking beside the characters through Oz myself. What touched me most was the love woven into this story. You can feel the author’s deep appreciation for Oz on every page, yet GaleBorn is completely welcoming to readers who have never visited Oz before. It captures the heart of what makes fantasy so magical the feeling of leaving the real world behind and stepping somewhere beautiful. The world-building is breathtaking without ever feeling overwhelming. Every place is described with just enough detail to spark your imagination and make you feel fully immersed. I found myself slowing down at times, not because I was confused, but because I wanted to stay in those places a little longer. Eliza’s journey is one of discovery, courage, friendship, and finding where you belong. Her story stayed with me long after I finished the final page. For me, GaleBorn wasn’t just a fantasy novel. It was a reminder of why stories matter. It brought back that childlike feeling of wonder and reminded me that there are still magical places to discover, no matter your age. If you love beautifully imagined worlds, unforgettable characters, and stories that make your heart feel full, GaleBorn is a journey worth taking."

My new favorite Oz retelling!!

"I absolutely loved Galeborn by Dan Filion. This Wizard of Oz inspired romantasy is packed with so many of my favorite tropes, including a mortal in a magical world, forced proximity, found family, the chosen one, slow burn romance, and bloodline magic. It doesn’t matter if you know nothing about Oz or if you’ve spent your whole life loving the world created by L. Frank Baum like I have, this is a retelling that anyone can enjoy. In fact, this is now my favorite Oz retelling I’ve ever read. I enjoyed it even more than Wicked. While the story is inspired by the classic Oz tales, Dan has completely made the world his own. The setting feels both familiar and fresh, with rich worldbuilding and a cast of complex, memorable characters. There are a few beloved faces that longtime Oz fans will recognize, but the heart of the story belongs to an entirely new cast. The FMC, Eliza, was easily one of my favorite characters and I loved watching her journey unfold. If I hadn’t followed Dan on TikTok while he was writing this book, I never would have believed this was a debut novel. The writing is confident, immersive, and incredibly well crafted. I cannot wait to return to this version of Oz in book two."

Stunning Romantasy!

"Welcome to Oz, but not the Oz you think you know. Dan Filion melds past and present in his debut fantasy to deliver something new, while paying homage to the world of Oz which has inspired a fandom worldwide for over a century. However, you don't have to be a fan or have read previous Oz books to enjoy GALEBORN. It was written for those who are new to Oz or have lived there a long time, and all can find it equally welcoming and fun to navigate. This story winds through magical and colorful lands, meets characters both new and old, and introduces you to the land of Oz as more than a place. There is romance, intrigue, mystery, magic, and a new threat on the horizon for Oz. The plot is thorough, the atmosphere refreshing, and the ending leaves you wanting more. Full of whimsical, thoughtfully created main and minor characters, I found this to be an intriguing adventure of a young woman discovering where she belongs in the world and finding friendship and love along the way. There are sweet and silly moments woven into this story, with a scale of detail so large you find yourself literally immersed in the landscape as you follow the story, but still not so overly detailed or complex you find yourself lost. The FMC, Eliza Gale, is me. She is you. She is anyone who is searching for their place in the world and not quite feeling they know where they belong. A truly deep, emotionally charged, lost-to-found FMC you can get behind and cheer on to the very end. Eliza isn't the child Dorothy was, instead she's the woman Dorothy could have been in Oz if she'd been able to stay. I love her. I want to be her. I am her at times. Congrats to Dan Filion for putting his passion for Oz on paper in a way that made me cry, laugh, and feel complete in many ways other fantasies have not. I feel refreshed, inspired, and healed. I'll be looking forward to the next adventure in The Gale Legacy, and more amazing Oz people to meet along the way."
