Makena is a fantasy/action-adventure comic from Will Meldman, set within the larger Kane Comic Universe. The story centers on Makena, a woman haunted by memories of her childhood in an orphanage controlled by the shadowy Global Corps. Though she has grown beyond its walls, her past is never far away—especially the disappearance of her best friend, a mystery that shaped her life and still drives her forward.
As an adult, Makena is thrust into a dangerous quest that reconnects her to the secrets of her youth. Clues hidden in a lost notebook tied to Charles Darwin point her toward a much larger conspiracy—one that links the experiments of Global Corps to reality-bending phenomena and monstrous forces guarding truths never meant to surface. Her investigation forces her to confront both human corruption and supernatural threats, testing her resolve at every step.
Blending gritty action, myth-tinged fantasy, and personal drama, Makena is as much about confronting the scars of the past as it is about surviving the dangers of the present. It’s a thrilling mix of adventure and mystery, with a heroine whose determination to uncover the truth becomes a fight not just for answers, but for her own identity.
