His stories are beloved by children, parents, teachers and booksellers alike because he writes about real issues in funny terms. His most recent books are Class Clown and No Clean Clothes.

Michael Martchenko has illustrated dozens of books. He was the recipient of the Canadian Booksellers'' Association Children''s Illustrator of the Year Libris Award in 2006.
