Dominic “Sticky Hands” Crumble runs the fanciest cake shop in Hallyburton. Adults adore his sugar-stacked showstoppers, but kids know better — get too close to his counter and SPLAT! You’ll be slimed with cream, jam, and goo.
When the Green children and their cheeky corgi, Onslow, move into town, chaos is on the menu. A runaway corgi, a bossy parrot, and one gigantic Wibbly Wobbly Whopper Cake soon turn the grumpy baker’s world upside down.
In full colour and packed with laugh-out-loud moments, Sticky Hands and the Wibbly Wobbly Whopper Cake is the first book in The Legend of Sticky Hands series — perfect for ages 6–9 who love silly stories, sneaky pets, and a good old-fashioned food fight.
Once the frosting has settled, readers can enjoy some bonus activities, including:
• A “Spot the Difference” challenge
• A word-search puzzle
• Gammy’s Cookie-Making page for both kids and adults
• A collection of laugh-out-loud jokes
• “How the Legend of Sticky Hands Came to Pass,” the secret origin story!
Perfect for young readers who enjoy the mischievous fun of Horrid Henry, the laugh-out-loud mayhem of My Weird School, or the silly chaos of Dirty Bertie, Mr Gum, and Dog Man. With its colourful illustrations, cheeky humour, and lively storytelling, Sticky Hands and the Wibbly Wobbly Whopper Cake will delight fans of funny, feel-good adventures for ages 6–9.

Even though Gary has lived in Canada for over twenty years, his close friends and colleagues still call him “that funny British guy” thanks to his accent and quick-witted sense of humour. He has successfully navigated careers in the police, the ministry, and social work, and his years investigating child protection cases taught him the value of laughter in the face of life’s challenges.
Gary is the award-winning author of The Hate Game: Screaming in the Silence and its recent prequel, The Lie That Changed Everything. He also writes the hilarious illustrated children’s series The Legend of Sticky Hands and, under his pen name Denny Darke, the darkly comic crime novels The Man with the Pink Sombrero and An Eye for an Eye: The Mallet Murders.
He holds degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry and a BSW in Social Work. Gary enjoys sunshine, spicy food, Cadbury’s chocolate, and Marmite (though not necessarily together) and remains a lifelong fan of Brighton & Hove Albion FC and the Vancouver Canucks.
