Get on the ""learn a new language"" bandwagon!

"I started using the book right away to determine the ""language"" of the flowers in my own yard, and have found this to be a really comprehensive book with a lot of helpful cross-references which I can use if I want to start making custom, bespoke arrangements :)"

Really nice guide

"I was really happy with the way it was laid out. It's in alphabetical order by their scientific names, but you can find the common names by looking at the index in the back. But theres two! One for names, and the other for meanings! I'm very satisfied with this."

Keep this around to learn some cool facts about flowers!

"A very cool and informative book on the etymology and origin of flowers. My mother in law loved this book and is always telling us new flower facts! It is a beautifully illustrated book with lots of great information."

Perfect for info on flower meanings

"It's beautifully done, the information has both meaning and witchy context if you're aiming that way, and I managed to build a bouquet for the manipulative cockroach in my life telling her exactly what I think of her without having to say a word."

Not for me

"Upon opening The Complete Language of Flowers, I was surprised by the facts alongside each illustration. I understood that it would be an education on the facts of each plant. Whilst the name is in Latin, much of the information is folklore and it discusses the power of each. I thought this would be medicinal but it’s not - one states the cure of werewolves. The historical element is similar myth-based. The symbolism contradicts itself in several places making it’s back cover promise of “ to create a meaningful flower arrangement” difficult to live out. Similarly, one can’t use it as planting reference. If you are looking for a beautifully illustrated, mystical plant catalogue, this may be for you. It’s a two our of five on my enJOYment scale."

“Flower lovers will marvel at S. Theresa Dietz’s The Complete Language of Flowers, an A to Z of flowers and plants listing symbolic meanings, possible powers, folklore and facts.”—BookPage
Spring, summer, and autumn container gardening on a small apartment’s balcony is all the more appreciated during the short growing season in the Enchanted Mountains of Western New York State where eclectic artist and writer S.Theresa Dietz makes her home. The twenty-plus years of ongoing research into the subject of floriography symbolism and powers were driven onward by her fascination with all things magical and mysterious, along with her deep abiding love of all trees, plants, and flowers. She is the author of The Complete Language of Flowers, The Complete Language of Herbs, The Complete Language of Trees, and The Complete Language of Food.
