Great Read

"Great read that deals with a serious topic in a relatable way."

Rachelle (5/5)

love this book!

"I bought this book for a friend as it’s one of my favourites! I’ve read it more than once and I still don’t want to put it down!"

Rach (5/5)

So good!

"I absolutely love this book! The writing is very well done and, while the first few chapters were a bit slow, it really picks up as you get further into the story. It's funny and serious at the same time, but it is well-balanced. I think it's definitely worth a read!"

Susanna (5/5)

Book club success!

"The Flatshare was my book club's first book of 2023 and I will say that I was not initially thrilled with the idea of a romance novel. That was shattered when I actually started reading it! The characters are loveable and real in a very millennial way, the ""arrangement"" in the heart of the plot is a bit on the nose, and the subplots are where a lot of the most interesting action happens. The ""side"" plot of Tiffy's previous relationship caught me off guard, as it reasonably would, and became the most emotionally charged part of the book for me. All in all, an incredible work and one I will love to reread!"

Grace (4/5)

Great book

"This book was not what I expected. It had multi layers of complexity other than just a regular romance. On the other hand the romance was very cute and also not what I expected. The characters had their own little quirks which I liked. I definitely recommend it."

Danielle (5/5)

Sweet

"Very cute book! The romance felt realistic in a sense that it was believable that they’d end up together. Additionally, the author used the roommate trope but deviated from the norm and made it original. Great read!"

Anna (4/5)

The title is subtle and also hints a bit at something that could be the result of said title.

"I really liked this book. It was interesting and kept me captivated, I was able to finish this very fast."

Hannah S. (5/5)

Fun read

"Love this one so much that I picked it up for a friend!"

Becca (5/5)

Soooo good!! Already want to read it again.

"I loved this book! The characters were very relatable and had great chemistry."

Taylor (5/5)

The Flatshare

"It was a good entertaining novel and kept me interested until the very end"

—Claire Allan, bestselling author of The First Time I Said Goodbye

Beth O’Leary worked in children's publishing before becoming a full time author. The Flatshare is her debut novel. The idea for The Flatshare came to Beth when her doctor boyfriend was doing long night shifts as part of his training and they could go weeks without seeing each other, but she could track his life by how many cups of coffee were left on the counter, by how much he’d eaten and whether the bookmark in his novel had changed locations. It made her wonder – what could you learn about someone if you lived together but never overlapped?
