“You’d be hard pressed to ever forget The Memory Tree once it takes root. This wicked tendril of folk horror reaches down deep, rummaging through the reader, making a home for itself that will last for years to come, perhaps a novel to outlive us all.”
CLAY McLEOD CHAPMAN, author of Devil Inside

“A warp and weft of folklore, fear and the power of remembrance, Davey’s latest is striking. Old things have memories too and not all are good. The Memory Tree is brilliantly Gothic, thoroughly haunting and a damn fine read.”
ANGELA “A.G.” SLATTER, multi-award-winning author of A Forest, Darkly

“A dark and crooked journey down a shadowy country lane, The Memory Tree is a haunting, atmospheric exploration of how tragedy echoes though the ages and seeps into the twisted roots of the heart.”
DELILAH S. DAWSON, Bram Stoker Award®-winner and author of Monstera

“Tense and compelling, this is a Gothic thriller to chill every reader’s heart.”
RHIANNON WARD, author of The Quickening

“A Gothic gem dripping with atmosphere… Dark and dread-soaked, The Memory Tree is a truly chilling novel that never flinches away from the question: how well do we really know those closest to us?”
AMY JANE STEWART, author of Hex House

“A wonderful reimagining of Gothic tropes, weaving together two time periods to tell the story of a haunting stretching across centuries.”
A.C. WISE, author of Wendy, Darling and Ballad of the Bone Road

“A lyrical interweaving of past and present that shows just how deep-rooted memories can be. A delight to read.”
ALISON LITTLEWOOD, author of The Unquiet House

"A deliciously haunting gothic tale of grief and loss, and how the past never stays buried for long."
DAVID BARNETT, author of Withered Hill

“[A] chiller with heart” - Exquisite Terror

“If you enjoy supernatural, gothic, folk horror novels, you will love this one.” —Horror Tree

“a slow, atmospheric haunting with emotional weight” -— Ginger Nuts of Horror

PRAISE FOR THE GHOSTS OF MERRY HALL

‘Dark, unsettling and beautifully written, this gothic chiller is full of surprises. Terrifying but impossible to put down – I loved it!’
Carly Reagon, author of The Toll House and Hear Him Calling

‘A darkly gleaming gem of a novel about the persistence of memory and the dangers lurking in the shadows of an old and brooding house.’ A. J. Elwood, author of The Other Lives of Miss Emily White and The Cottingley Cuckoo

‘A mesmerising and original gothic tale that I struggled to put down. Beautifully written, dark and delicious. I literally dropped everything to read it in two days!’
Jody Cooksley, author of The Small Museum

‘The Ghosts of Merry Hall is a gothic treasure chest full of seedy secrets and eerie charm. I loved Dolly Dove from the start.’ Verity M. Holloway, author of The Others of Edenwell

“Heather Davey has crafted a confident, thoughtful, and deeply atmospheric debut that marks her as a significant new voice in gothic fiction.”—Ginger Nuts of Horror
