What do a mercenary and a mortician have in common? Dead. Freaking. Bodies. So when they meet, murder plans fade to black for this match made in twisted heaven.

Callum Walker is a contract killer, but the hits he executes in his spare time are reserved for child abusers, a mission fueled by his traumatic past. So when Cal notices one of the neighborhood kids trying to conceal an arm injury, he’s got a new target.

Funeral director Ryan Fairview isn’t like others in his profession: he can see ghosts. And when Cal breaks into the funeral home, Ryan’s surprised to find the intruder is haunted by all the souls he’s taken on the job. But while he thinks he can help rid Cal of his demons, he can’t quite get past the recent attempt on his life.

Meanwhile, Cal quickly realizes he’s got the wrong guy, but his identity has been compromised. To tighten up loose ends, he decides it’s best to keep Ryan close. As they spend more time together, it becomes clear the straitlaced undertaker is everything Cal isn’t—which makes breaking through his impenetrable exterior all the more irresistible.

With his signature blend of charm and chaos, the hitman chips away at the mortician’s reservations, igniting their connection into something neither saw coming. Especially Ryan, who’s never been attracted to a man before . . .
