A great read for young teens!

"The Roughling is a unique story that engages the imagination and brings the reader on a journey of adventure, friendship and hope. When a cryptic note appears in his family's library and strange creatures begin stalking Toronto's streets, twelve-year-old Ambrose discovers the bedtime stories he grew up with are surprisingly real. With the help of his friends, he uncovers a hidden world buried just beneath the city he calls home. The setting is its secret weapon. The Roughling is set in a recognizable city but uses Toronto brilliantly, making the magic feel close and familiar. Fast-paced, suspenseful and anchored by a friendship that stands out, this is a book worth reading. The first of a trilogy, so look forward to more!"
