Here is the fascinating story of Vancouver, Canada’s major west coast port. It traces Vancouver’s romantic past from early times, when 5,000 First Nations lived in villages near the water’s edge, to the early 1970s, as Vancouver started to bloom into the city we know today. The text is handsomely illustrated with 62 historical photographs – many never before seen in print – and 9 interesting maps that chart the city’s growth.

Vancouver’s Past is the product of the authors’ many years of original research into archives, museums, and libraries from the Vancouver area and as far afield as Montreal and London, England. It has been verified for historical accuracy by an array of experts on Vancouver’s history.
