"This is not a 'quiet' book. It is noisy with the most important kinds of struggle, because you and I face them every day: the quest to find our place in the world, to belong to a family and group of friends, to be loved." - Kenneth Oppel

"Pearson's gift is to always write straight from the inner well of childhood feeling." - Toronto Star

Wonderfull story (but sad)

"awake and dreaming is a fantastic book, I wish more people knew about Kit Pearson. There are a lot of talented authors who go unknown and not so talented authors who receive all the spotlight. This book will always rank up there"

Awake and dreaming

"I loved this book so much as a kid. The story was so captivating and mysterious. Honestly every Kit Pearson book I have read has been amazing."

Georgieporgie (5/5)

Timeless Story

"This is a novel I would recommend to anyone. As a child who grew up in foster care I understand the feeling of needing to escape into an imaginary life. <3"

Erica (5/5)

Great book

"Like many Canadians of my generation, I have adored Pearson's writing since I was a kid. Now, as an adult, I still get excited for a new release from one of my favourite authors. To me, this one reads differently from her earlier works that entranced me as a child, but still heartily recommend to young adults and adults alike."

Classic

"This is the book the comes on top of my head when someone asks me what's my favourite book. My best friend recommended it back when we were in elementary! We're now adults and still love it!"

Abby (5/5)

Captivating.

"I wish the book would never end!"

Thanhy (5/5)

LOVED THIS, read it twice

"I first read this book when I was younger many years ago, loved it, and forgot about it. I bought it so I can read it again and I loved it just as much as the first time. you get very attached and sympathetic toward the main character. I think this book can definitely be read by all ages!"

Diana (5/5)

Classic!

"This was the book that motivated me to learn English. I remember back when I was an ESL student my teacher wouldn't let me pick this book for novel study just because I didn't know English. Determined, I made sure I learned English as fast as I can just so I could read this book and it was worth it."
