A Wake-Up Call

"The book was surprisingly down-to-earth, and got its message across so effectively that I left my FaceBook account five months ago. And don't miss it."

Careless People makes an Interesting Read

"Certainly an interesting read and provides some insights into how social media has moved from a source of connection and community building to a means of control and manipulation."

Nayear (4/5)

Fantastic read

"Careless people was a fascinating read and highly recommended. I have told many friends to read it. It changed the way I felt about social media and the way that we use this technology."

""When Power Parties Hard: A Gatsby-Era Tragedy for Modern Times""

"Careless People: A Cautionary Tale of Power, Greed, and Lost Idealism A sharp, evocative dive into the corrosive effects of unchecked ambition, Careless People delivers a haunting portrait of power's seductive pull and the ideals it tramples along the way. With crisp prose and chilling insight, the book reads like a thriller but hits with the weight of truth. It's a cautionary tale that feels all too timely—equal parts riveting and sobering."

Tom B. (5/5)

So many reasons to read!

"Intelligent, ambitious, idealistic woman pursues and lands her dream job. High performance, success, expertise, loyalty are not enough. A master class in global government relations and public affairs…. and Sr. Leaders behaving badly. Many of the stories, are too relatable to question…. if you’re a female leader. Hard to put this one down. And…the efforts to silence the author…. will likely keep it on the top of the charts!"

An Honest Look Behind the Curtain

"This book completely gripped me. It’s an eye-opening look into the inner workings of the company, but what really stayed with me was the author’s courage and integrity. You can feel how much Sarah Wynn-Williams struggled with the disconnect between her values and the company’s actions. It’s rare to get this kind of honest, human account from someone who was actually in the room. If you are curious about the underlying impact of tech on our world, you need to read this!"

Katana (5/5)

Good read

"Insightful read , great for thoes looking for an inside perspective"

Rachelle (4/5)

Truly Awful People

"The author shares some great dirt on the inside workings of Facebook. She provides real insight into just how the minds behind the App really think, and just how awful they are."

Rob T. (4/5)

Facebook's access to China.

"Excellent book. The author worked at Facebook before it went public. She explains how Zukerberg's views of the wold changed during that time. To penetrate the chinese market, he had to accept all their conditions: face recognition, access to messages from users, even destined to people out of China, One thing I liked less: she talks about Sheril Sandberg's sex preferences, Maybe it is because of my age, but frankly I thing this is none of our business,"

René (4/5)

Tech Bros are killing the planet and people on it.

"Excellent inside look at the conduct and the greed of tech companies and the harm they are causing around the world."

Named a Best Book of 2025 by TIME, The New Yorker, The Associated Press, Scientific American, The Globe and Mail, and more!

"Devastating . . . funny . . . highly enjoyable . . . A Bridget Jones’s Diary-style tale of a young woman thrown into a series of improbable situations" - The New York Times

"Amazing: of all the books in all the world Mr. Free Speech Zuckerberg wants to ban, it’s the one about him'"- Marina Hyde, Guardian

"Jaw-dropping . . . A tell-all tome" - Financial Times

"A darkly hilarious, shocking tale that starts as farce and ends as tragedy. It combines withering portraits of Facebook’s insular, callous leadership with harrowing details of what Wynn-Williams calls the company’s “lethal carelessness” on the global stage.” –Michelle Goldberg, The New York Times

“The book...reads like a spicy office memoir if your officemates travel by private jet and your boss asks for a rally of 1 million people” –Ron Charles, The Washington Post

“Careless People is really well-written, funny, horrifying, and quite compelling. I was on the edge of my seat, turning pages as fast as I could and ended up reading the book in less than a day. I cackled. I gasped. I laughed. I cringed. I cackled some more. I cringed some more.”-Roxane Gay

“This book is unbelievable and necessary. First off, it’s wonderfully written, propulsive, novelistic, and LOL at times. It details the morally bankrupt forces atop Facebook who are personally, knowingly responsible for a swath of crimes against yes, humanity…I so, so recommend this book. It’s a zippy read, and like I said, at times truly funny to be in the room where it happens with these morally bankrupt snowflakes…an amazing gift that this book was written.”-Maria Semple

Sarah Wynn-Williams worked as a diplomat for New Zealand, including in Washington, DC. She joined Facebook after pitching a job and ultimately became director of global public policy. After leaving the company she has continued to work on tech policy, with a focus on artificial intelligence.
