Caroline is the author of fiction and non-fiction books for adults and children, which have been nominated for eleven different awards, between them all. After working as a lighthouse keeper for thirteen years on the West Coast, she now lives and writes full-time in the village of New Denver, B.C. Her books include: A West Coast Summer, The Village of Many Hats, and Singing Away the Dark, which was published in French, Korean,Bulgarian, Chinese and Japanese. Her bestselling memoir, Light Years: Memoir of a Modern Lighthouse Keeper, was nominated for the Bill Duthie B.C. Booksellers Prize. She and her husband co-founded The Motherlode Bookstore and she spent eight years as a publishers' sales representative.
Claire Victoria Watson was raised on the West Coast, and spent most of her time outdoors on the ocean or in the forests. As a visual artist, her mediums of choice are pen & ink, watercolor, acrylic and digital. She is known for her stylized fine line work, organic color palette, and capturing the unique personality of the west coast in the wildlife, ocean and landscapes. Claire works as an independent artist, illustrator & graphic designer and sells her artworkall over the world. She enjoys a relatively minimalist, nomadic and creative lifestyle. After raising her family in Tofino and on Gabriola Island, Claire now calls Victoria home.
