Lady Tan’s Circle of Wimen

"I purchased thinking the book would be similar to some of Pearl Buck’s stories I read as a child. The author pulled me into the historical time with fervour of plot in the first two pages. Lisa Lee gets my heart beating and anxiously waiting to turn to the next page. Historical fiction at it’s best."

Lady Tan's Circle of Women

"This is one of my favorite books for this year. It captures our minds with the rich history of China during the 1450-1520's with an exclusive description of life featuring the educated and uneducated lifestyles. Lisa See tells the story of a young woman who is trained as a doctor and follows the strict household order. She isn't allowed to care for patients until society allows her to and records her successes for all to know today. These successes demonstrate the knowledge and care for her patients and survival."

Tolsa (5/5)
