A man with too many secrets!
"Walter Nash is a boring number-cruncher, excellent at his job, but just a kind, loving husband and father. Under the surface of Nash’s perfect life are a lot of secrets. Secrets in his family, secrets at his work and secrets in the FBI investigation of his employer, Sybaritic Investments. As Senior Executive VP, he is in the perfect position to uncover their secrets. The mastermind behind the crimes is willing to use lethal means to prevent exposure, including targeting Nash and his family. Caught between the FBI and the criminals, Nash frantically searches for a way out. Baldacci sets up the question, “What would you do if your family were at risk?” Walter is extremely smart, but a bit clueless about all his family’s secrets. When his family pays the price for his actions, he re-examines his skill set. He works to become a lethal threat of his own to exact revenge. I love how complex his character is; he has many hidden depths. The story dragged a bit for me during his transformation, but overall was exciting, with unexpected twists. It does end on a cliff-hanger, and I am looking forward to the next book in the series. Recommended for readers who enjoy thrillers with interesting out-of-the-ordinary heroes.
