Darrow is a Red, a member of the lowest caste in the color-coded society of the future. Like his fellow Reds, he works all day, believing that he and his people are making the surface of Mars livable for future generations. Yet he toils willingly, trusting that his blood and sweat will one day result in a better world for his children.
But Darrow and his kind have been betrayed. Soon he discovers that humanity reached the surface generations ago.
Driven by the memory of lost love, Darrow sacrifices everything to infiltrate the legendary Institute, a proving ground for the dominant Gold caste, where the next generation of humanity’s overlords struggle for power. There, he will stop at nothing to bring down his enemies . . . even if it means he has to become one of them to do so.

Spine Writing Easily Comes Off
"Well laying on the couch reading the book I had my hand on the spine for awhile, it got a bit sweaty. When I put the book down I noticed the lettering had rubbed off so the spine no longer says Rising. Definitely don’t buy if you want to be able to read the spine."

High quality and beautiful.
"High quality, beautiful book. Absolutely looking forward to showing it off to anyone who will give me the light of day. Only downside is there’s another special edition announced to be released next year."

Great book, stunning edition, disappointing flaw
"A really good read with stunning art, but was disappointed that the gold letters on the spine rubbed off by simply handling the book as I read. Great book, great for collectors but if your like me and enjoy reading the books you buy (yes even special editions) then just be warned that the gold title will likely rub off very quickly. Thankfully the slip case has the title in red but I'd guess that that rubbs off with handling aswell so handle cautiously."
