Good resource

Eye-

"I have just finished to the end of chapter 10 amd I am looking forward to finishing this book. As someone recently diagnosed with ADHD and struggling to find supports, the information in this book is very relevant. I am having my eyes opened about what ADHD is (so many effects on my life that I was unaware of!) and how I can make my daily life less overwhelming. As someone with ADHD who does not excel at reading non-fiction texts, I am finding that it is well adapted to keep my attention focused on what I am reading. Most of the chapters are short and to the point so I can easily finish a chapter a day."

Kerry (5/5)

Great book with practical tips

"I would read anything written by Dr. Barkley given his contribution towards research on ADHD and what we know about it. Great book so far, haven't read it all yet though. . ."

Nish (5/5)

Good start

"I am still getting through this book but I find the approach and information to be very direct, without indulgences, and at the same time validating. I am learning more about how my brain works and why I cope the way I do. I was diagnosed in my thirties, and now I think my partner may also have ADHD now that I know more about how it presents on different folks. Also the chapters are short enough to help you get through without losing focus, which is important for me."

Mel S. (4/5)

Finally, I have an answer!

"Excellent, recommend this for both therapists & patients,"

Iliana (5/5)

No doubt, a must buy for adults w ADHD.

"Could write a novel expressing how much I love, and needed this book. Has helped me understand myself on such a deeper level - my behaviours, thought processes, symptoms & how to approach them, etc. It has an interactive aspect which keeps it engaging & easier to follow along. I’m about half way through, and I’m actually excited every time I pick up this book. Makes me feel like there isn’t anything wrong with me, just that my life needs a different form of management than others and Dr Barkley explores different ways to find your best approach."

Natasha (5/5)

Good source of information on adult ADHD

"This book has a lot of good information for adults with ADHD or people with adults with ADHD in their lives. It covers what ADHD is, how it affects you, how to get a diagnosis, and different treatment options that are available. Overall, it’s a well written book full of good information."

This wonderful book presents information and sharp clinical insights accrued over decades of work by a preeminent leader in the field. Dr. Barkley clearly and thoughtfully discusses the causes of adult ADHD and how to get diagnosed and treated. A ''must read'' for anyone interested in learning more about adult ADHD.--Lenard Adler, MD, author of Scattered Minds; Department of Psychiatry, New York University School of Medicine Dr. Barkley''s advice to individuals who have ADHD (or think they might) represents a remarkable blend of science and practicality. This book offers a lifeline to adults with ADHD and their families.--Michael Gordon, PhD, Director, ADHD Program, Department of Psychiatry, State University of New York Upstate Medical University Consider this book the Rosetta Stone of adult ADHD. No one but Dr. Barkley could translate the sophisticated grasp of ADHD for which he is well known into lay terms and solid strategies. Comprehensive, immensely practical, highly readable, and wholly compassionate, Taking Charge of Adult ADHD is the definitive guide for adults with ADHD and the people who care about them.--Gina Pera, author of Is It You, Me, or Adult A.D.D.? This book will surely become a classic. If you are an adult with ADHD, Dr. Barkley can help you make sense of your lifelong struggles and develop a clear roadmap for overcoming them. Stories and examples from others facing the same challenges bring Dr. Barkley''s ideas to life. I will certainly recommend this easy-to-read yet scientifically based book to everyone who comes through our adult ADHD clinic.--J. Russell Ramsay, PhD, Codirector, Adult ADHD Treatment and Research Program, University of Pennsylvania
