Loved it for me

"So helpful and pleasant to read! I found the author and her advice much more relatable than I thought I would. I love that it focuses on my values and what I feel than what one ‘should’ do. There are a couple very minor points I didn’t relate to but after reading this I will definitely be applying this overall method. If you’re a fan of the TV show, I’m finding this a helpful compliment to do it myself without needing to tab a bunch of pages as it’s very clear, but it’s also helpful to see videos for folding for example. Her experience is also evident in terms of different dead ends one could fall into and how to handle them. Even if you don’t end up taking up her method, if you’re kind of nerdy (not about tidying, I wasn’t, but just about how things can work) and about to tackle something in your life right now, it’s just also an interesting and sweet read to hear her POV."

Get tidying!

"A small little book explaining her basic principals and why other methods might not be successful. Also some background on who she is and how she got to love tidying up. An easy read."

Get Ready To Donate!

"I know this book has been around for a while, but I am just getting around to reading it now and I understand why it has gained such popularity. We live in a world filled with overconsumption! (Black Friday today, ironically) And I admittedly look at our belongings and think, “I have too much… When is the last time I wore that? … Does my son ever play with that toy?…”. This book makes you reevaluate what you thought was important, and what actually IS important. A must read for anyone who wishes to declutter not only their home, but their mind!"

Tidy your stuff and tidy your life

"With her different approach to tidying, Marie Kondo provides strong insight into the ‘why’ which helps keep the clutter away."

Laura L. (4/5)

A little unconventional but promising

"She may be a little neurotic in some of her points and steps but overall her steps to live in a tidier home seemed promising. I feel actually excited to give it a go!"

Interesting philosophy on tidying

"As someone looking to keep their home organized, this book hit the spot and offered a great perspective."

Dave (5/5)

Intriguing philosophy with some flaws

"Overall I think Marie Kondo has hit on a pretty solid philosophy: focus on keeping what you love rather than discarding what you dislike. The first 40 or so pages laying out the core of this philosophy were inspiring! Yet I kind of wish I'd stopped there because aside from some extremely questionable paragraphs that made it into the book, the rest of it is all pretty woo-woo in regards to """"waking up"""" objects, arranging them in such a way they are allowed to """"rest"""", etc. Regardless, if you can ignore the woo-woo and focus on the philosophy, I can see a quick read-through, and then actually following the method, making some good changes in your home and life."
