“Beth O’Leary is that rare, one-in-a-million talent who can make you laugh, swoon, cry, and ache all in the same book, and The No-Show is her most moving yet. O’Leary’s wit, charm, and heart are on full, fantastic display in this cozy, surprising, and deeply satisfying novel. I couldn’t possibly love it more.”—Emily Henry, New York Times bestselling author of Beach Read and People We Meet on Vacation

"Achingly clever."—Sophie Cousens, New York Times bestselling author of I Just Haven't Met You Yet

"Even as it taps beautifully into emotions and experiences that feel so universal, The No-Show is fresh, surprising and oh-so clever. It made me laugh, brought me to tears, and kept me reading late into the night. It's the kind of book that leaves an impression on your heart. A truly special read."—Holly Miller, author of The Sight of You

"Sweepingly romantic, bursting with character, and so, so clever I gasped out loud. Many writers make you feel good, but O'Leary also makes you think."—Gillian McAllister, Sunday Times bestselling author of That Night

“With thoroughly likable characters—even Joseph becomes appealing—this plot-driven novel is fast-paced and engaging throughout. Full of both humorous and heart-wrenching moments, the novel is packed with the perfect mix of contradictions to keep it engaging... An expertly plotted romantic surprise about self-forgiveness and second chances.”—Kirkus Reviews

"The No-Show by Beth O'Leary is a rom-com with a side of mystery."—PopSugar

“The attention to detail adds depth to each character—even Joseph will win readers over—and the twisty plot keeps readers both guessing what will happen next and rooting for happy endings across the board. This is a knockout.”—Publishers Weekly, starred review

“The truth is a puzzle the novel slowly reveals while making you fall in love with everyone involved.”—NPR

"There are few authors who are able to capture the realities of romance and the deep impacts of trauma, let alone in the same book...As O'Leary's layered and enthralling story unfolds over the course of the book, she reveals her characters to be so unavoidably human it's hard not to relate to them, even if you've never climbed a tree."—USA Today

“Equal parts rom-com and mystery, this unexpected story about the power of second chances will have you swooning and crying.”—E! News

“O‘Leary’s latest feel-good romp involves three women, each stood up by the same man on Valentine’s Day. Secrets are uncovered, relationships are tested and happiness is found in unexpected ways.” —The Washington Post

"The beauty of The No-Show is in the plotting. Eventually, the question becomes not so much who will each of these women end up with (and will any of them end up with the jerk?) but how is O'Leary going to tie all of this together? Nothing is what it seems....The book is built like a Jenga tower — so many pieces, and each one crucial to its structure. It's a deliciously fun read and so fun to figure out.”—The Star Tribune

"I love when a book completely surprises me and it’s even better when a romance catches me off guard and that’s exactly what happened here.”—Novel Gossip

“Poignant and compelling—and surprisingly informative about the risks arborists undertake—The No-Show is an engrossing novel...O'Leary does an excellent job, as always, of creating a charming, realistically flawed romance, while simultaneously tapping into the darkly funny side of life.”—Shelf Awareness

“The No-Show is a terrific read, filled with people who are enjoyable company even when the story goes to dark places... O’Leary is a great storyteller, with keen insight into all the phases of romance.”—BookPage

"The No-Show is a clever combination of mystery and romantic comedy that will keep readers engaged from first page to last."—Book Reporter

“Heartbreaking. Romantic. Complicated. Friends, the word extraordinary comes to mind...definitely on the shortlist for my favorite book this year.”—All About Romance

Not bad

"Interesting book for sure, wasn’t for me but I did like some parts. Read it in one sitting though!"

Alyssa (3/5)

Really good

"I seriously was not expecting to like this book as much as I did. I picked up The No Show as a filler kind of book, a light rom com read that would be easy to read. I am so glad I chose this book because the story starts off in such a misleading direction and then all of a sudden you get hit with a car. I was so shocked at the plot twist in this book it left be feeling almost struck and not knowing how to feel for a while. I seriously misjudged this book and even more so, the characters until I read it."

Sang (5/5)

Intresting Story

"I liked it, but not what I was expecting, good read"

Terri-Ann (4/5)

A story that ties together beautifully!

"This is a must read romance book. You will laugh and cry and fall in love with all three women. O’Leary has a way of writing that makes you want to re-read over and over. I recommend going in blind and enjoying the ride!"

Vanessa (5/5)

O'Leary fan for life

"Beth O'Leary does it again - a beautiful story with endearing characters and a hint of mystery."

Ness (5/5)

Weird but wonderful

"This is kind of wild. I think a lesser writer than Beth O'Leary wouldn't have been able to pull it off, but she managed to tie up all the threads into a wonderful, aching little bow. I love all these characters—Jane, of course, being my favourite. I said this in my review of her previous book, THE ROAD TRIP, and I'll say it again because THE NO-SHOW had this aspect, too: Beth O'Leary may write romance/women's fiction, but she has the sensibilities and the flair of a skilled mystery/thriller writer. This woman can PLOT. She can JUGGLE. She can weave a sense of dread into every scene, even a cute and cozy one! I would love to see a whodunit from her someday. UGH, how long until the next O'Leary novel?!"

Rebecca (5/5)

Emotional & Clever! A Must Read

"An emotional support group should be provided with this book. My heart is still in repairs, I swear. The reviews have been incredibly cryptic for this one, and now I understand why. It's Valentine's Day and three women—Miranda, Jane, and Siobhan—have all been stood up by the same man, Joseph Carter. I spent the majority of this read in a delightful confusion. Who truly is Joseph Carter? Where was he on Valentine's Day? Gah! It was a wild ride. Alternating between the three women, I loved analyzing the varied relationships they each shared with Joseph. I honestly cannot pick a favourite POV. They were all fantastic! The ending left me in a sobbing mess while also applauding the absolute cleverness and intricacy behind this story. A must read. Seriously!"

Sarah (5/5)

Great book

"Havent read it yet, but the second I read the description, I had to buy it. Such an interesting idea for a book!"

Andy (5/5)

Rom-com read done right

"Cute rom-com story that was creatively written. Would recommend this light read for a vacation or beach read!"

Tanya C. (4/5)

The No-Show

"Go into this blindly! This is more of a romantic mystery then a rom com. Good story, the ending left me satisfied."

Beth O'Leary is a Sunday Times bestselling author whose novels have been translated into more than thirty languages. Her debut, The Flatshare, sold over half a million copies and changed her life completely. Her second novel, The Switch, has been optioned for film by Amblin Partners, Steven Spielberg's production company. Beth writes her books in the English countryside with a very badly behaved golden retriever for company. If she's not at her desk, you'll usually find her curled up somewhere with a book, a cup of tea, and several woolly jumpers (whatever the weather).
