Highly recommend!

"Radium Girls is very well written and well researched. Hard to put down and focuses on the victims' perspectives and stories."

Profit before people

"Amazing true story that was unknown to me. Excellently researched. It shines a bright light on how industry will put people to one side to enable profit. The personal stories of each Radium Girl were interesting and painful. These women suffered for years and still continued to work with the company because it was a good income. Their persistence in getting justice is commendable."

The radiant girls

"Very interesting (though very sad) account of women who painted luminous clocks with radium paint, and subsequently got radium poisoning and their fight with the companies that deceived them. The story is great, although at times a bit repetitive."

Occupational Health

"Read this book for Book Club! Everyone in every industry should keep their eyes open to a safe work environment. Companies and management will promote their work places to be safe working places but their major goal is to make money and if that means turning a blind eye to the work environment and protection of their workers, they will do it! Workers have to make sure they are working in a safe manner in a safe environment. This story took place in the early 1900s but there are still safety regulations being broken around the world."

A fresh view

"It’s the story you’ve heard about the radium girls, but from a new perspective. Instead of focusing hard on the legal or medical sides of the disaster, it talks about the women themselves, their lives and what they went through. It’s horrifying and amazing"
