Reviews

Title stood out to both the clerk who helped me and to myself. It was perfect for what I needed to find.

"It was a well told tale of nursing heroines. It began with asking the reader to name famous doctors. That was easy. Next I was asked to name famous nurses. Only one came to mind-Florence Nightingale. Then followed the best tales of fabulous nurses serving people with dedication and courage. The book ended with the repeat question of naming famous nurses. Such a difference, we could name lots of them since we had read their stories."

Pleasantly mixed emotions

"I appreciate the mixed variety of stories and opinions. Humour and compasssion abound. I do not feel as much wisdom exists as the nurses are so early in their career and they are easily influenced by new age ideas . I love the historical context woven into the chapters highlighting past and present nursing heroes ."

Excellent reading for new and senior nurses!

"There are some fantastic close ups of incredible nurses, both from the past and recent years. Some fun asides as well from the writers own experiences. Not only is the book engaging but it has helped me to reflect back on my own nursing experiences!"

Review for The Wisdom of Nurses

"As someone just getting into nursing, I found this novel to be inspiring. It had some great stories that I would recommend reading whether you are a nurse or not!"

Lola (5/5)

Amazing book!

"Wisdom of Nurses is such an uplifting and heartwarming read. The stories in this book really capture the heart and soul of what it means to be a nurse. It’s full of real-life wisdom, compassion, and the kind of emotional insight that makes you appreciate nurses even more. Archibald does a great job of showing just how impactful nurses are, not only in healthcare but in the lives they touch every day. If you’re looking for something inspiring, this is definitely worth picking up."

Pretty good, quick read

"As an Ontario nurse relatively early in my career, I appreciated that this book was written by a pair of nurses local to me. It touched on issues specific to where I live and practice. Some of my own experiences were validated by stories in this book and others reminded me of nurses I know. I enjoyed reading about their career paths since I’ve only ever worked as a hospital nurse. Would love to be able to read more profiles/stories of notable nurses or different specialties."

Great look into the life of nurses

"I'm not a nurse, but i was enthralled, amused, and occasionally disgusted, in a good way."

Rosie (5/5)

No wisdom here

"Frankly not much here, boring stories of their careers ,they did nothing special"
