The Woman In Me

"I loved getting to read first hand accounts and see Britney’s perspective throughout all that took place."

Interesting and Heartbreaking

"3. 5 stars Honestly, I'm having a hard time deciding on whether or not I should be giving this memoir a numerical rating, or potentially even reviewing it. . . but I will. I am very conflicted when it comes to this memoir. I feel bad for Britney Spears because I think she sacrificed a lot by growing up in the entertainment industry and with the incredulous level of fame that she has achieved. I cannot even imagine the insurmountable pressure she had/has on her shoulders. However, I do think it has understandably taken its toll on her. When it comes to looking at this as a generalized read, I would say this memoir is very interesting, compelling, and thought provoking. It really does open your eyes to some horrifying things that could have been involved to manipulate and control Britney. Yet, if I was to act as a devil's advocate, I will be honest and say that I don't know how honest of a narration this memoir is. It could all be real, parts of it could be real, none of it could be real, or it could be Britney's perception of reality. I honestly don't know. I do think Britney has her own struggles that she faces which does unfortunately make me question some of the truths of this memoir. Additionally, I know many memoirs are ghostwritten but with this book, I am in full belief that it was mostly written by someone else based on what Britney Spears relayed. A lot of her captions on Instagram are barely legible so in no way do I believe she wrote this book mostly independently. Either way, whether this be a truthful memoir or not, I do really feel for Britney and hope that she's able to heal and overcome the difficulties that she faces."

An inspiring introspective on one of pop culture’s greatest performers. A reminder that human trafficking is insidious and invisible and can happen in plain sight. In front of millions of adoring fans

"I can’t help but wonder if Jamie Spears wrote this book."

Good

"Good story, not greatly written. Incredible all that she went through by her own family."

T J. (3/5)

Matches a theme running through the book.

"It is clearly Brittany's voice, telling her story. Makes for an easy read but still had me contemplating the hardships behind the scenes for those in the spotlight."

Good, not Great

"I consider myself a Britney fan, so was looking forward to this one. I found the writing style to be immature-ish. Interesting to hear about her life, but I was never really captured by her plight. It's hard to identify or really care about someone who in one sentence says ""Justin cheated on me. "" and in the next says ""So I vacationed in the Caribbean for a month to make myself feel better. "" Boo-frickin-hoo. It was informative, if not very compelling."

FlukeBear (3/5)

Interesting

"Really interesting book. To hear in her words the things that she went through was touching"
